- Nomenclatural Comment
- The epithet ultramafica comes from the Latin word ‘ultra’, meaning ‘beyond’ (Stearn 1998), and the composite word ‘mafic’, which was coined for modal ferromagnesian minerals (Cross et al. 1912). The epithet refers to the base rock and substrate on which plants of this species occur., Holotype: NEW ZEALAND: South Island: Otago, West Dome, west side, 28 Jan. 1998, P.N.
