- Earlier records of Physcia tribacoides (including Galloway 1985) from New Zealand are referrable to Physica poncinsii Hue., This taxon name was formerly in the PND as Physcia tribacoides, following D.J. Galloway's Flora (2007) and the Nylander's 1874 protologue. However, as Index Fungorum and Mycobank both give the current name as Physcia tribacioides, the spelling has been changed accordinging. 11 Sep 2023
