- New Zealand, Westland, Lake Paringa, Cattle Track, 80 m, on rotten wood in coastal broadleaf forest dominated by Nothofagus menziesii, 18 Mar. 2000, E. & A. Horak (holotype PDD 71138, isotype ZT 8713).
- Taxonomic Comment
- E. Horak (2008) considers Stevenson's type collection of E. niveum to be in poor condition and mixed. One component relating to his concept of E. sericellum, a northern hemisphere species which he considers present in indigenous habitats. For the second component he described the new species E. capitiosum.
