Nomenclatural Comment
New Zealand, Westland, Lake Paringa, Cattle Track, 80 m, on rotten wood in coastal broadleaf forest dominated by Nothofagus menziesii, 18 Mar. 2000, E. & A. Horak (holotype PDD 71138, isotype ZT 8713).
Taxonomic Comment
E. Horak (2008) considers Stevenson's type collection of E. niveum to be in poor condition and mixed. One component relating to his concept of E. sericellum, a northern hemisphere species which he considers present in indigenous habitats. For the second component he described the new species E. capitiosum.
