Nomenclatural Comment
The endemic, monotypic genus Rehubrym was separated from the variable Ulota lutea by Draper et. al. (2023) who maintain there is molecular evidence for recognising this entity as separate at the generic level. Fife (2017, in Flora of New Zealand mosses 31) regarded Ulota bellii as a synonym of "the most common and by far the most variable of the species of the genus [Ulota] in N.Z."
