Zuccarello, deposited in the Herbarium of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Genbank Accession numbers: cox1: MN942037, ITS1: MN942043, rbcL: MN942038., The specific epithet transtasmanicum refers to the distribution of the species in Australia and New Zealand across the Tasman Sea.
