- Although this was first recorded as Sarracenia rubra subsp. alabamensis, Sarracenia rubra subsp. alabamensis D.E. Schnell Castanea 42(2): 169. 1977 was an invalid name. Also, apparently Sarracenia alabamenis was published invalidly in Rhodora 76(808): 653-663, f. 1-3 (1975) [1974]
