Taxonomic Comment: Use of this name in New Zealand almost certainly is not the same as the parasite of scale on citrus in Florida. Sequences of NZ material show it to be a Septobasidium. The peculair natureof the associated propagules indicate T. webberi is probably closely related and therefore the genus belongs in the Septobasidiales and is congeneric with Septobasidium. The asscoated name S. pilosum, described from Java, requires clarification but is probably part of the same group. [JAC 2025]
