- Nomenclatural Comment
- This taxon was again described by Tagg, H.F. (1934) Three Rhododendron species, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 18: 218–220 on pp. 219–220. It is likely that the 1933 citation should read "Rhododendron venator Tagg ex L.Rothschild", as Lionel de Rothschild was the power guiding the Rhododendron Assocation at the time of the publication of the Year Books.
