- This species is named for one of the enthusiastic supporters of this study, John Marris. He provided many valuable specimens from South Island., Holotype. NEW ZEALAND: Three Kings Islands: 1♂ (NZAC), aedeagus dissected and mounted in balsam on a clear plastic card, “New Zealand: TH: Castaway Camp 29 XI 1970, G.W. Ramsay Litter 70/234”, “HOLOTYPE Sagola marrisi Park and Carlton 2013”. Paratypes (7 males). NEW ZEALAND: Three Kings Islands: 7♂♂ (NZAC), same data as holotype.
