Nomenclatural Comment
Araujia sericifera Brot. and A. hortorum E.Fourn. are very closely related entities and probably do not deserve recognition at the species level. Nevertheless, all the specimens revised collected in Australia and New Zealand and conserved in the main herbaria of Argentina and Uruguay clearly belong to the taxon here considered as A. hortorum Fourn., and so do all the specimens sent to us from CHR (pers.comm. Carlos Villamil, Departamento de Biología, Bioquímica y Farmacia, Universidad Nacional del Sur, 8000- Bahía Blanca, Argentina, 2008).
