- Nomenclatural Comment
- This species has been recognised in New Zealand recently, however, the PND follows Larrain et. all (2013) and the opinions of A.J. Fife in recognising Racomitrium s.l. rather than segregate genera, and follows A.J. Fife and earlier workers such as Dixon (1926) in regarding the basionym, Grimmia elegans, as part of the variation of Racomitrium crispulum.
