- Taxonomic Comment
- Lloyd 1923, p. 1226, synonymised Xerotus glaucophyllus with Xerotus berteroi [= Anthracophyllum berteroi (Mont.) Singer], but Pegler & Young 1989, p. 361, disagreed, and suggested that Xerotus glaucophyllus should be included under Marasmiellus because of its lack of soluble pigments and its tapering spore shape. However, Segedin 1994, p. 66, reported soluble pigments and ovo-ellipsoid spores in the type collection.
