- Cladonia anomaea (Ach.) Ahti & P.James was considered a synonym of Cladonia ramulosa (With) J.R. Laundon (1984) by Malcolm & Galloway (1997). In Galloway (2007) it was noted (p. 370) that specimens of Cladonia darwinii have commonly been misidentified as Cladonia ramulosa.
