- Quercus lanata Sm. is regarded as a synonym of Quercus leucotrichophora A.Camus in Flora of China (2001), but Plants of the World Online keep them as separate species (viewed 8 Mar. 2021). Wilcox (2012), in his book "Auckland's Remarkable Urban Forest", also gives. Q. leucotrichophora as a synonym of Q. lanata (in his index), but he gave Q. lanata as the current name.
