- Singer considered the type from S. America to be a subspecies of G. specatibilis, noted its occurrence on Eucalypts, and suggested Australian origin. Rees et al considered Australian G. pampeanus and G. spectabilis to be close from sequences. I can find no justification for Raithelhuber's genus Pseudogymnopilus [JAC].
