Nomenclatural Comment
The species epithet honours the 19th century botanist William Jameson, who collected extensively in present-day Ecuador. Jameson’s mosses were in-part described by T. Taylor (1846) and subsequently incorporated into Mitten’s monumental Musci Austro-Americani (1869).
