New Zealand, Westland EP, Saltwater Lagoon, Hinatua River, NZMG 2297498E 5782524N, 88 m, cutover lowland podocarp forest which has had all large podocarps removed, now forest with dense understorey of Griselinia littoralis – Dacrydium cupressinum – Manoao colensoi / Blechnum novae-zelandiae, epiphytic (phanerophyte host not recorded), growing at the base of Macromitrium grossirete with Gottschea tuloides, 6 March 2002, T. Paul (holotype: CHR 582857)., Sicilicula from the Latin, sicilis, meaning sickle and the Latin diminutive, -ula. This references the falcate second tooth.
