Nomenclatural Comment: Type: New Zealand: locality unknown. A. Cunningham 330 (neotype K), here is confusing information about the year and page number for this name. In 1832, Dacrydium plumosumhas been variously cited from the 1828 Descr. Pinus ed. 2 App. 143 (IPNI) and POWO, and the 1832 Descr. Pinus ed. 3 App. (Allan 1961 and Farjon 2017). If the 1832 date is correct then the name Dacrydium plumosum was one of 5 names published in a brief section beginning on an unnumbered page below an article by G. Bennett. Whether these names should be attributed to D. Don, who authored the "account of the Lambertian herbarium" [fide TL2], or to G. Bennett who wrote the article on Coniferous trees of New Zealand that finished above the "Botancial Characters of several species of coniferous trees of New Zealand", seems to have resulted in different interpreations of authorship. Thus the correct name could be Dacrydium plumosum D.Don or Dacrydium plumosum G.Benn. ex D.Don. Furthermore, the unnumbered page on which it was published has been interpreted for other names as p. 189 and as p. 159. The database inputter here did not find the 1828 version with Dacrydium plumosum, but did locate the 1832 edition 3 online.
